Equity investments in Russian companies
Aurora Russia Limited's strategy is to make equity or equity related investments in small and mid-sized private Russian companies focused on the financial, business and consumer services sectors. We look for viable exit opportunities within two to four years. Our strategy takes into account the following key factors:
Competent management - market presence
We look for well recognized brands with a strong presence in a growing market. The management team must be well motivated and companies should have in place scalable business models, transparent accounting policies and strong relationships with customers and suppliers. We search for companies with blue-chip clients, capable of further development and opportunities to create value through economies of scale.
Board representation
Aurora takes blocking or controlling stakes and board representation. We generally take equity stakes in excess of 20 per cent. Equity investments are typically between £5million and £15million.
Investments constantly evaluated
We aim to substantially invest the company's funds within 18 months of admission and will continually review how best to realise value for Shareholders whether through a trade sale, flotation or secondary refinancing of investee companies. The proposed exit route will form a key consideration of the initial investment analysis.
